Progress 2003 to 2011
Very brief summary of progress over the years at Ridgeline:
2003 - Formation of Ridgeline Trust and registration as a charity.
2004 - Reading Borough Council agree to Ridgeline developing a therapeutic garden on the disused paddock site part of the old Mockbeggar Estate.
2004 to 2008 - Huge clearance operation taming the overgrowing wilderness and first cultivated areas dug.
2009 - Ridgeline welcomes its first disabled gardeners, and puts up its first garden shed.
2010 - Planning permission obtained for a pavilion style building. Grant of £5,000 towards cost of the building is awarded by the Earley charity; fundraising continues.
2011 - A car park is developed which we share with the new care home Lakeside, adjacent to the Ridgeline garden. Award winning garden designer Hannah Genders begins drawing up design plans.
2012 - Paths are lain all around the site to give better access for all users. A Polytunnel is added for growing and makeshift shelter while we continue to fundraise for our basic building.
